Help Rescue Dogs In Need Of High-Cost Medical Care
Give to Kitu's Fund Today!
We are passionately committed to providing high-cost medical and emergency care for dogs in need. Kitu's Fund enables us to do just that--but we're struggling to make ends meet and our funds are critically low.
- In 2025, we spent over $244,000 for regular veterinary care, including spay/neuter and vaccines
- We spent another $91,000 plus for emergencies and life-threatening medical conditions
We couldn't do what we do for the dogs without Kitu's Fund for high-cost and emergency medical care. Your generous donation goes directly to dogs in need of expensive medical care, including the wonderful dogs below:
Meet Gabe
Gabe is a young malinois mix who was likely hit by a car and left to shift for himself. He came to us as a stray pup with an existing injury. X-rays revealed a broken pelvis that had already started to heal. Our vet recommended a regimen of rest and careful exercise.
Sadly, over the next few months Gabe's mobility declined rather than improving. A second set of x-rays showed his pelvis had healed crookedly, impeding his mobility. Amputation was Gabe's best option for a pain-free life. The surgery cost $3,000.
Gabe has adjusted quickly to life on three legs. He's an incredibly loving, social dog who gets along with every dog and human he's ever met. We know he'll be a wonderful companion and we're honored to have given this special boy the second chance he deserves.

Meet Presley
Presley is a fire survivor who first came to Rescue Ranch during the Lava Fire in 2021. He arrived with severe burns that required months of care and rehabilitation. Needless to say, we were all thrilled when Presley found his forever home the following year!
Recently, Presley's adopter reached out to us for help. Presley is battling a severe skin condition and she needed help caring for his needs. Now Presley is enjoying a medical staycation at the Rescue Ranch Sanctuary, where caregivers can give him frequent medicated baths and a special diet. A follow-up vet exam for bloodwork will help us to address underlying causes so we can get our special survivor back to full health and his happy home once more.

Meet Sugar
Sugar is a nanny dog extraordinaire, a perfect guardian for puppies growing up at the Rescue Ranch Sanctuary. She's truly a four-legged staff-member!
Unfortunately, Sugar has been working a little too hard. What began as a limp developed into a torn ACL in her right knee. The price tag for her surgery came to $5,000. Sugar is on a leave of absence from her duties while she heals and is making good progress. It's imperative she stay calm because there's a 70% chance that she'll injure her second knee during convalescence.
Sweet Sugar is a one-in-a-million dog. We miss her terribly and the sooner she's back on her feet and in the puppy pen the better. Get well soon, sweet Sugar!

Kitu's Fund is critical for sick and injured dogs in need
We need your support so we can continue to give Gabe, Presley, Sugar, and so many other sick and injured dogs the second chance they deserve.
